I worked all day yesterday, worked 21 hrs this week, but thats good cause come wednesday i'll be rollin' in it. They've revamped the whole internal workings of the place now to make everything quicker. so i worked all day yesterday and it made me really pissed off so i went home and drank half a bottle of JD and i'm still feeling the effects of it.

bought a couple of things on ebay this week: a new copy of ZZ Top - Eliminator (great album...sharp dressed man, gimme all your lovin', legs?) and a massive ace frehley poster, the same one thats on the inside of his 1978 solo album. they should be arriving today or monday. at least i hope so.

New presidential directive gives Bush dictatorial power

The National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive, signed on May 9, 2007 declares that in the event of a “catastrophic event”, George W. Bush can become what is best described as "a dictator":

"The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government."

This directive, completely unnoticed by the media, and given no scrutiny by Congress, literally gives the White House unprecedented dictatorial power over the government and the country, bypassing the US Congress and obliterating the separation of powers. The directive also placed the Secretary of Homeland Security in charge of domestic “security”.

The full text is below. A critical analysis on the directive can be found here.

This is another step towards official martial law (see “US government fans homeland security fears”), which suggests that a new "catastrophic event" 9/11-type pretext could be in the pipeline...

Bush sees tensions between Russia, West
From correspondents in Washington

May 22, 2007 08:58am

US President George W Bush said today a lot of tensions exist between the West and Russia and voiced scepticism about Russia's path to democracy under President Vladimir Putin.

"My message to Vladimir Putin is there's a better way forward, and your interests lie in the West, and we ought to be working together in a collaborative way," Mr Bush said.

Mr Putin came close to comparing the United States to the Third Reich recently and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice tried to cool the harsh rhetoric in a visit to Moscow.

Mr Putin has been upset at US plans for a missile shield in Europe that he considers aimed at countering Russia but which Mr Bush says is to counter the potential threat of missile attack from renegade states.

Mr Bush said he sent Defence Secretary Robert Gates to Moscow to try to ease Russian concerns about the missile shield, with the message that "we're not your enemy".

"You know, people in his government harbour suspicions about our intention, and I was trying to allay those suspicions. But there is a lot of tension with Russia, particularly with Europe now, that Russia is using her energy and denying market access to different countries, for example, Polish meat," Mr Bush said.

Mr Bush said he still is close to Mr Putin personally but said "it's a very complex relationship" between the US and Russian governments.

"He thinks they've got a democracy emerging there in Russia. Obviously there's a lot of suspicion about that, and I look forward to continuing to talk to him as to why he thinks his country is on the path to democracy. It looks like at times it's not to me," he said

----------------------------------------------

haha you fucking moron. i don't know what he's trying to achieve by putting up walls between him and the russians. i think he's just trying to destroy this planet that he's done well to fuck up already. he's a fuckin' dumbass.

anyway, won myself a copy of eliminator (zz top) on ebay, and paid for it so that should arrive sometime this week. working this afternoon as well, 4-7, worked yesterday 7-4. breakfast shifts are easy, its when lunch hits that we're workking our asses off. bradley ain't that bad a manager, he's actually a good manager provided you follow his instructions to the letter, so yesterday was a good day and i don't think i screwed up once. drank plenty (3 bottles of mount franklin) and that kept me going. currently listening to guns n' roses november rain, pming with delrae on livewire. txt'd with shae again thismorning, first time in ages. nice to hear from her again, that she's ok. never mind the darkness, we still can find a way, wahtever that means. nothin' lasts forever, even cold november rain.

considering which guitar to purccahse, whether to buy the acoustic one first for $150, or spend $200 on the essex, or go into hobart music centre and put down a deposit on the les paul players pack, which contains an epiphone les paul, amplifier and all the usual parafinalia (SP?) its a good guitar, i've tried them out in there before, high quality instruments that are just as good as their gibson brothers, and thers nothing overly major to justify the $3000 price difference. so the player pack is like $550 which means a 10% deposit ($55) then 10% every week after that for 9 weeks.

anyway, now we see if this posts.

Enjoy

And then the best one...

The Globalization of Military Power: NATO Expansion
NATO and the broader network of US sponsored military alliances

by Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) did not fundamentally change its mandate after the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact and the collapse of the Soviet Union. In the wake of the Cold War, NATO continued to expand. In 1999, before the NATO war against Yugoslavia, NATO expanded into Eastern Europe.

NATO is determined to expand its membership circle and to expand its mandate. Ultimately NATO is slated to become a global military force. Moreover, part of the objectives of NATO as a global military alliance is to ensure the “energy security” of its member states. What this signifies is the militarization of the world’s arteries, strategic pipeline routes, maritime traffic corridors used by oil tankers, and international waters.

NATO’s “Mutual Defence Clause” Used to Control Energy Resources?

U.S. Senator Richard Lugar has called for NATO to come to the aid of any member of the military alliance, such as the United States, whose energy sources may be threatened. The justification of such an intervention would be under NATO’s Mutual Defence Clause (Article 5). Senator Lugar’s idea has received strong support from the Eastern European members of NATO and the E.U., which are dependent on...
