Van Halen to announce reunion details Monday

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - David Lee Roth and his former bandmates in Van Halen will officially announce their reunion during a news conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles next Monday, according to their representatives.

"Come witness rock history as Van Halen makes an announcement of monumental proportions," said a media alert e-mailed on Wednesday by concert promoter Live Nation.

Roth will be present at the 11 a.m. PDT announcement, along with Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen and his older brother, Alex Van Halen, the band's drummer.

It will not exactly be a reunion of the classic lineup famed for such hits as "Panama" and "Running with the Devil," because bassist Michael Anthony has been replaced by Eddie's 16-year-old son, Wolfgang.

Roth and Van Halen were supposed to hit the road earlier this year for a reunion tour, but plans fell through when Eddie Van Halen entered rehab in March for undisclosed issues. His illness also scuttled a potential reunion at the group's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction later that month.

Roth, 52, quit Van Halen in the mid-1980s, during the band's heyday, in hopes of attaining solo stardom. Those dreams crashed, and Van Halen continued successfully with Sammy Hagar on vocals.

The band's luck ran out a decade later when Hagar and Van Halen acrimoniously parted ways, and a new album with a third singer tanked. Since then, both Roth and Hagar have briefly aligned with Van Halen, and the two singers even toured together, despite Roth's barely concealed enmity for Hagar.

Ex-CIA officer Slams US Allegations against Iran as Sham

'In an alarming exposure of the acceleration and urgency of the American war party's push towards catastrophic war with Iran, Philip Giraldi, former CIA counter terrorism officer, in an interview [1] on 24th July with Anti War Radio debunked the NeoCons' repeated myth of Iran's support for AlQaeda as a pretext for war. Whilst acknowledging Iran's helpfulness in trying to establish security in both Afghanistan and Iraq, Giraldi spoke of the United States' hypocritical and illegal support for terrorist separatists groups inside Iran, and various plans and scenarios which have been drawn up to destroy Iran's military and economic infrastructure by massive bombardment, with the use of nuclear bombs a real and stated possibility...'

In other news, just finished work. Had a pretty good shift, didn't do much and just coasted through today. interestingly, despite all the shit i've done there, i've never got a warning slip. idk. the only one i've ever come close to getting (for doing a shitty close that wasn't my fault anyway) i managed to talk my way out of. i mean, i've never ever been late to a shift, and i always give 100% even if i'm not feeling the best. that sometimes results in shit work but i do my best. didn't see much of the managers today, don't know why. we had the situation under control.

where does a soldiers loyalty lie, to defend their country and constitution or to follow the orders of the commander in chief? don't know where i picked that up from, probably off the web somewhere. most likely not from a book, seeing as i don't read many political books these days (i don't wanna pay the $22 library fine i've managed to rack up). I just use the library computers and internet to do all my business and research.
oh yeah and i fixed the input jack on the guitar, it was the plug i was putting into it wasn't a good quality, rather than the plug itself. i went out and spent $40 on a rat lead and its improved the sound of the instrument. the jam session turned out to be nothing much, he turned up an hour and a bit late, and he wanted to play something for kate, wtf? acoustic folk. wtf? i think he made up his mind when he saw me pull out an SG and overdrive pedal. behrenger overdrive/distortion pedal cost me $50 and runs on a 9v battery. its purple. this thing fucking kicks ass, squeels like a pig or growls like a dog. fuckin' amazing. think i need to upgrade the fender frontman though, if i wanna start playing gigs. but currently saving for a laptop, then maybe a trip to perth then moving out. dad reakons it'll cost me at least $2000 to move out into a rental place. plus i'd need a decent regular paying job.
I don't know whether anyone else does this when playing, but i noticed the other day that when i play guitar i rock back and forth (regardless of whether i'm sitting or standing) and it looks really bizarre, especially since i'm playing great and should be concentrating on what i'm doing, instead of looking out the window. Is it a sign of insanity? look at footage of hitler at the '38 olympics and he's doing exactly the same thing, looking around and rocking back and forth (he couldn't play blues guitar though, i don't think). I did have some videos posted on youtube of me playing but the 'bring it on home' video screwed up and the other one i had the camera on my knee pointing at my hands but i kept my head down looking at my right hand wondering what i'm doing and it looks realyl crap, and i thought the riff i started with was original but later figured out it was actually queen's stone cold crazy, so i was a bit disappointed there.

Definition of myself - Parahuman

1. parahuman

Someone who displays skills sets or social tendencies that are outside of those of mainstream society. A person that defies social norms but is not a sociopath. Usually a highly intelligent person with a good set of social skills, but who is unwilling to spend too much time with people. The parahuman hates bars and beer pong and prefers to play video games. Also spends large ammounts of time creating and fixing virtually anything electronic or mechanical.

The parahuman fixed my computer in record time.
